HomeSphere Partner Summit Recap

August 14, 2018

Building product manufacturers flew in from around the country to attend HomeSphere’s annual Partner Summit, held from July 31 through August 2 at the Omni Interlocken Hotel in Broomfield, Colorado.

The goal of the Partner Summit?

To have manufacturers meet with HomeSphere’s Regional Market Specialists, demo the latest updates to HomeSphere-IQ, learn more about the LEADPLUS and LEADSHARE programs, as well as hear what builders are saying about challenges in the market. Here’s what attendees said about the event:

Partners sat down with each of HomeSphere’s Regional Market Specialists to discuss strategy for promoting the manufacturer’s products within individual markets.

I think the biggest [benefit] for me is the partnerships. Being able to have a relationship with[HomeSphere Regional Market Specialists] in the field and be able to work one on one with them is what’s really going to make the difference.

Other Highlights from Partner Summit

Speeches from Carl Reichardt and John McManus

As with last year’s keynote address, Carl Reichardt, the Managing Director of Equity Research for BTIG, once again provided fascinating insight into the residential construction market. This year he discussed the recent building slowdown seen among HomeSphere builders and the rest of the market. Carl stressed that the slowdown should not to be misconstrued with a housing downturn, as the market fundamentals remain strong.

Meanwhile, John McManus, the VP and Editorial Director for Hanley Wood, discussed the ways in which technology will disrupt the home building industry and how we must challenge our fundamental assumptions about land, labor, and lending.

HomeSphere also hosted a builder panel featuring representatives from two builders, Sara Berry of Wonderland Homes and Jim McCarthy of Domain Homes. Their discussion touched everything from how the price of lumber and labor is impacting business to how smaller builders must carve out a niche amongst the national players.

Finally, the HomeSphere Partner Summit wasn’t only about business. The charity golf tournament raised money for Homes for Our Troops, specifically for wounded veteran Nicholas Morris, who participated in the tournament.
