How Home Builders Can Increase Profits from Foundation to Finish

June 13, 2019

At HomeSphere, we like to tell home builders we’re here to help from “foundation to finish” because it’s an easy way to say we’ve got lots to offer during every stage of the home-building process. From facilitating rebates on HVACs to hardware to facilitating relationships between builders and building product manufacturers, one of our core goals is to help home builders increase profits. That way, they can continue to construct quality homes for the rest of us.

For almost 20 years (you heard that right!), we’ve been helping home builders earn money back through our rebate program. Our approach is simple: Use any of the products in our 1,500+-strong catalog of rebate-eligible items, let us know you’re using them and then sign up for free to start earning rebates while building mutually beneficial relationships with manufacturers.

As a general note, builders are a good match for our builder rebate program when one of the products they use — or plan to use — overlaps with our brand catalog. Once a builder has signed up, our specialists work with each builder to determine how much brand overlap there really is, as often builders match with other rebate-eligible products as well.

Bundled rebates

When builders use products that match with several brands, we bundle those rebates into one program, and in return, offer our builder partners incentives for using more than one of our trusted brands. We’re loyal to our manufacturer partners, like Bryant, Aristokraft, Electrolux and Kwikset, because we believe in their products, and we’re happy to help you switch over to more of our rebate-eligible partner brands.

The more products we can bundle, the more incentives you’ll receive. Similarly, each product is assigned a point value to help you earn more through our tiered approach.

A tiered approach

Based on the value of a product, our team applies a point amount for each product eligible in our brand catalog. This means that complex installations like HVACs and electrical systems have a higher point value than other products. At the same time, it also means that luxury lines also have a higher point value. These points translate to what you earn in rebates — just think of it like a rewards card.

This means that our point system coupled with our bundles helps you earn more money back, and our market specialists are always here to help you maximize your HomeSphere program.

A software solution

Builder partners are kept up to date on HomeSphere’s brand catalog through our award-winning software platform, My HomeSphere™. Within the platform, builders can look through our entire catalog of rebate-eligible products to plan and expand their HomeSphere rebate program. And when builders have any questions on products available or would like to update their plans, we have market specialists who are happy to step in and help.

We want builders to know exactly what they’re getting with us, so My HomeSphere also includes a dashboard that provides builders with all their important program information (like when they’re next rebate check will be mailed) at a glance. It also offers comprehensive reports that builders can use to track their brand usage, historical earnings and more.

Building partnerships

We’ve mentioned before that our program helps builders strengthen relationships with manufacturers and that’s because our market specialists work with both builders and manufacturers to facilitate introductions. These introductions can help builders find reliable trades to write winning bids and break into new markets.

We also let manufacturers know when specific multi-family builders are interested in their products so the manufacturer can reach out directly to the builder and start a conversation.
