HomeSphere Supports Rebuilding Together Metro Denver’s Winter Weather Campaign

Ahead of what could be Denver’s snowiest winter in years, HomeSphere is supporting RTMD’s cold weather campaign to keep low income homeowners warm inside their homes and safe when they step outside.

“HomeSphere has supported Rebuilding Together Metro Denver’s critical work since 2005,” said HomeSphere CEO Glenn Renner. “We are proud to support their winter campaign, which seeks to ensure that veterans, low-income older adult homeowners, and those living with disabilities have working furnaces and water heaters and that their walks, steps and driveways are kept clear after snowstorms to prevent falls and injuries.”

Every winter RTMD focuses on providing free furnace and water heater repairs and replacements for qualified homeowners. This cold weather season they are also launching a volunteer campaign to keep vulnerable homeowners safe following snowstorms through the RTMD Shovel Brigade program.

For a $15 donation, RTMD sends donors a sticker to place on their snow shovels as a reminder that each time it snows they have pledged to clear the walks, steps and driveways of neighbors who are older, disabled and/or veterans. Volunteers are asked to post photos and videos on social media using the hashtag #RTMDShovelUp and challenge others they know to join the brigade.

“We are thankful to HomeSphere for the early donation of $1,500 through Colorado Gives Day, and their continued commitment as longtime advocates for the work we do around Metro Denver,” said RTMD Chair Chris Magyar. “Their generous donation allows us to get our clients through a tough winter.”

While December 8 is the actual date of the annual statewide fundraising event, companies are welcomed to make donations in the days leading up to Colorado Gives Day. Visit www.coloradogives.org/RTMDShovelBrigade to learn more and donate.
